It is a good thing that almost all Tornjaks memorize the neighbors in the street very quickly, especially those with whom you are friends. Also they memorize frequent passers-by, as well as their dog friends. But they will be loudly barking at the strange dogs and passers-by, and motorcyclists are a “special case” for them.

Self-consciousness

Typical direct orders (and expectations) like: come, sit, lay-down, bring here – will leave Tornjak indifferent. The reason for this is not intentional disobedience, nor could it even be categorized as stubbornness. The reason is, they simply do not see the sense in meeting these, fairly banal demands. Far from rejecting the orders, in fact, the speed at which they are willing and able to acquire the “tasks” is impressive, but Tornjak is dog that is far more inclined in making his own decision what to do in practice, compared to other dogs, especially when they reach full maturity.
